Kathy and Rod have been busy the past few months with the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign in California. It started with walking precincts in August to delivery yard signs and now we have been helping with standing on the Raley's corner waving 'Yes on 8' signs.

It has all been rather fun but not without some fear and trepidation in doing something that we are not used to be doing. There apears to be a lot of people in our area that agree with us, because of the thumbs up and horn honks we get when on the corner, however there a re a few that yell and make other hand signs.

We both feel that we are on the Lord's side and are convinced that we are at his battle front in helping with the fight against gay marriage proponents.

We encourage all our family to stand with the Lord and help in our stand for truth and rightousness.

American River Rafting

This past weekend was full of fun with all the family (except Liz and Mary) for the baptisms of Rachel and Joshua.

Dad planned a fun outing with all the boys older than age 4 in the family. They went rafting down the American river Monday afternoon.

Most of them got wet, some not be accident. what fun !

Kaylee Rose

Kaylee Rose was the honored guest at the Chapman residence this week as she joined the family reunion. Grandma and Grandpa had so much fun with her and the rest of the Chapman and Mavy family. Mark even joined in the fun in Clearlake.

Joe's mom and her husband came and we had a fun barbeque with too much to eat.

Now that the July 4th is over we are looking forward to resting on Sunday.

We sure LOVE our family and every person in it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depot Bay

When we arrived home following our trip to Utah and Nevada, Mom and I headed for Depot Bay, Oregon where John and Linda Halverson would also join us for a couple of days. This was to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and Mom's birthday.

The time was fun and we had a great time in Lincoln City shopping and in Newport visiting.
We had lunch at Newport harbor on Wednesday with John and Linda and had exotic sea food. I got to eat dungenous crab and mom ordered mussels, which she was not too fond of. She added a salad that work out better.

We saw the seals at the harbor and also found it restful listening to the ocean from our unit where we stayed.

Quick trip to Utah and Nevada

Dad has been taking two weeks off from work to get a lot of traveling in.

First, Liz came home for a few days from BYU and then we drove her back to Utah to pick up Mary and deliver them to the resort in southern Utah for their summer jobs. We also provided transportation for Jon, Mary's friend.

While we were in Utah, we had the privilege of attending Jenny's baptism, trying to hike the 'Y' in Provo, and attended the last nights performance of Pirates of Penzance, the play the Mary has been performing in.

After we dropped th girl's off at the resort, we drove through Zion Park and spent the night in St. George.

The next morning we drove to Becky's home in Henderson, NV. We had fun with the Bunting family and started home on Wednesday, arriving late that night.

Wow, what a trip. Lots of fun and excitement, except for the fact the Dad was experiencing very bad allergies in NV which improved once we left the Las Vegas pollution and wind.

A Little Something

Rod's FORCING me to write. I don't have anything to say. Well, maybe I can think of a little something:

It was so fun to have Ruth's and Dan's families here last night. It was quiet when they all left, too. I told Kaitlin that she is precious, but she didn't believe me. Maybe she doesn't understand what the word means. She just is.

Aaron is a joy to be around--every time we smile at him, he grins back twice as big.

We enjoyed having Sarah and Joe and family here for almost a week, and look forward to having Becky and her family here a few times this summer, too.

Conference was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep being busy with the alteration thing. I have 3 wedding dresses and one prom dress to work on Tuesday. It is fun to work with all different kinds of brides and young women and older women as I get to adjust their special dresses to fit perfectly. Well, as close to perfect as I can manage.
